Our friends over at Event Cosmetics recently did a high-fashion runway show with Emily Sunnell, the designer of the Emilia Kaye clothing line. The looks are startling, very Marie Antoinette! Not necessarily what you'd think of for a wedding, but I love the mood that this look inspires. Great job EC team! Photos by Brett Marjanen.

Four great Portland photographers!
There are so many great Portland photographers that I really hate to pick faves. However, after my event The Photo Playdate, where we brought together event planners and their families for a day of pampering and photo taking, after I saw the results, I just have to give a shout out to those who participated: Impression Arts, Jasmine Photography, Evrim Icoz, and Valls Photographic. Just take a look at some of the shots:
This is my fabulous assistant Samantha Michael. If you are a venue manager or a vendor, it’s very likely you will get a call from Samantha when we are in vendor search mode, pairing up our clients with everything from the perfect reception spot to the most relaxing spa. I love the way Evrim has captured her super-friendly personality!
Holiday VIP deals from Dosha SalonSpa
I know lots of Portlanders like to hit Dosha for the manis, pedis, waxing and such, especially around bridal time. Here 's a great tip: If you attend one of their holiday parties in December, you receive a complimentary VIP card for 10% off services pretty much all year round.
This year it also looks like they're offering 20% off gift certificates if you bring in a Toys for Tots donation. Wonderful!
Allison & Michael’s wedding at Kruger Farm, photos by Evrim Icoz
Evrim Icoz, a Portland-based photographer, just sent us a few wonderful photos of a wedding we coordinated this past September at Kruger Farm on Sauvie Island. Here are a couple of our favorites:

putting the local spirit in your wedding
I had the opportunity to visit with a catering company owner at a fall tasting and open house the other day, and we started chatting about the popular requests for locally sourced food items on wedding menus.
So why not booze? I've noticed many wedding bars stocked with Grey Goose, Absolut, Maker's Mark, and the like… all very well and good, but with all the amazing distilleries we have right here in the Portland area, why miss this opportunity?
Here's a list of local distilleries just to get you started, I'm sure there are more. If you think of one that I haven't mentioned, please add it to the comments!
tupai at andina!
So right after our last post about rehearsal dinner ideas, we were lucky enough to wind up atAndina for the Oregon ABC monthly meeting. This recent Restaurant of the Year winner (2005, Willamette Week) now has developed several private dining spaces and is ready for bridal luncheons, pre-wedding parties, rehearsal dinners, or even small weddings. We were so charmed by the place we had to let you know about it.
