{ Real Weddings } A Multnomah Falls Lodge Wedding

Columbia-gorge-wedding-multnomah-falls

Today’s real wedding was photographed by Scott McNamara. We helped Lauren and Kurt from Chicago plan an Oregn destination wedding weekend at Multnomah Falls Lodge. With this type of scenery you really don’t need any other decor!

Their ceremony was held on the patio surrounded by forest and the falls in the background; the reception was held inside the historic 1925 lodge Great Hall, with its soaring ceilings and crackling fireplace.

{ Real Weddings } Happy Anniversary Mauro and Ken!

Happy anniversary to these lovely grooms! We were thrilled to be a part of their wedding a private riverfront Wilsonville estate last year. Family and friends contributed flowers from their farm, and the grooms provided the wine from their Sherwood winery. A farm-to-table dinner buffet was created by Valley Commissary Catering, and the guests danced the night away to Pura Vida Orquestra, honoring the Cuban heritage of Mauro’s family. Many happy returns to the couple!

{ Real Weddings } Erika and Lionel’s Wedding at The Grotto and The Nines

  Portland-outdoor-wedding-the-grotto
Erika and Lionel came up to Portland from sunny LA to have a subtly-Hello Kitty-themed wedding at the The Grotto with reception at The Nines Hotel. As soon as she said “Hello Kitty” you know I was already SO THERE for everything. I was also super excited to help them combine Erika’s Mexican cultural and family traditions with Lionel’s Filipino heritage. Some of these traditions were expressed in the traditional Filipino Catholic ceremony, complete with veil, cord, and coins ceremonies; and in having a cumbia band at the reception. All in all, it was an exciting, whirlwind day with lots of love, great food, and dancing; and we were so lucky to be there to help with it.

{ Featured in Portland Bride and Groom } Real Weddings – Erica and Rohan

Been meaning to blog about this one for a while! I was so pleased to pick up the most recent issue of Portland Bride and Groom magazine to find one of our weddings from last summer featured.

Erica and Rohan planned a traditional church ceremony at First Presbyterian Church, followed by a surprise Sri Lankan (Sinhalese) ceremony, called a poruwa, at their reception location of Castaway. They chose a multitude of wonderful details, from the vintage double decker bus to take guests from church to reception, to the modern geometric details of the wedding cake from AK Cake Design. For a full vendor list and all the photos, follow the link to the magazine article. There’s even a video from Moving Pictures!

Thank you again, Erica and Rohan, for letting us be a part of such a big day, and many thanks to Portland Bride and Groom for featuring such a unique wedding.

{ Real Weddings } Jeanne and Korash at Zenith Vineyards

For today's EJP Events real wedding, we look back at Jeanne and Korash's celebration at Zenith Vineyards in Salem, Oregon. The couple found us by searching the web, all the way from NYC, although Korash's family is based in Salem; so a family-friendly celebration in the heart of Willamette Valley wine country fit the bill.

We loved helping Jeanne and Korash find their wedding location, their wedding photographer David Barss, choose flowers and menu options with Vibrant Table and Vibrant Flowers, and helped them select music from the Ramsey Embick Trio through Northwest Artist Management. Bright oranges met with the warm ivory tones of the venue and were used throughout the wedding, especially in the whimsical guest book table decorations that we helped assemble.

Many thanks to David Barss Photographer for sharing these lovely photos.

{ Real Weddings } Thalia and Conor at the World Forestry Center

Today’s EJP Events real wedding comes to you courtesy of Thalia and Conor, who we worked with last summer on their lovely wedding at the World Forestry Center. The WFC is such a great venue because there are so many choices for catering, and there are both outdoor and indoor wedding locations. For Thalia and Conor’s wedding, they chose the tented outdoor plaza for the ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour inside Cheatham Hall. During this time, our team changed the tent setup from ceremony to reception. Finally, they and their almost 200 guests headed back to the tent for a seated buffet dinner with a dance area in the center.

While the guests went in for cocktails, the EJP Events team worked quickly to move ceremony decorations for reuse as reception centerpieces; remove tent dividers and bring out tables, move ceremony chairs around the dining tables; and set placesettings and favors.
